MARKETING INTERN POSITION
The Pick Group of Young Professionals is a diverse network of young people interested in engaging with and bettering their community while pursuing excellence in the workplace. Our membership is comprised of career and community minded young professionals (Age 21 to 40). Pick Group members live in Riverside and its surrounding areas and they are the up and coming superstars in the business, nonprofit, civic, educational, legal, medical, hospitality, and service sectors of our community.
Join The Pick Group in Riverside, CA as a Marketing intern supporting our social media marketing campaigns, and membership/community engagement efforts. This is an exciting opportunity that will give you experience in communications and community development while building valuable networking and work experience. You will acquire marketing skills in various aspects of the nonprofit sector. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing channels. You will also work cross-departmentally with other Pick members to assist with events and help to spread the word about Pick using various methods to achieve successful results, as you receive mentoring and exposure to all aspects of the Pick Group’s mission.
Activities for this internship could include, but are not limited to:
1. Support the marketing chair and committee with various administrative tasks.
2. Develop creative content for marketing campaigns for advertising and online.
3. Develop stories and content for blog articles including conducting pick volunteer and alumni interviews, editing and preparing stories for monthly e-newsletter.
7. Develop social media strategies to increase Pick’s online presence across all channels.
8. Work with the marketing chair and committee to assist in updating the branding guide.
10. Other assigned tasks as needed.
Minimum qualifications:
1. Passion for the City of Riverside and for connecting with other young professionals.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Excellent computer skills. Advanced knowledge of Canva and Squarespace a plus.
4. Reliable, organized, takes initiative, willing to learn, pitches in, flexible.
5. Excellent team player and independent worker.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
1. Event planning, marketing and communications, graphic design and video production.
2. Entering or already enrolled in their senior year of college.
3. Flexible to work evenings and weekends when needed.
This is an unpaid internship with the Pick Group of Young Professionals in exchange for a good reference, corporate and non-profit networking opportunities, authentic work experience, and the opportunity to work with professional staff.
Office Location
Office is located in Riverside. A portion of the work for this position may be conducted at sites located throughout the Inland Empire.
Travel and Activities Schedule
This position may require projects that occur on weekends as well as travel throughout Riverside
Compensation
This is an unpaid internship position.
