Books and Brews 1/14/19

books & brews.jpg

Books & Brews exists for professionals like you to connect around various personal and professional development topics, all while enjoying a cup of joe, or good craft beer. This is a place where you can discuss and apply concepts from books we will read together. The meeting times will be for discussion and feedback, after everyone has read the specified portion of the book on their own time. Our goal is to provide an opportunity to attend for everyone who wants to, so each month we will offer two meeting times, one in the morning, and one in the evening. A loose format to discussion will be used, but freedom of discussion and feedback is paramount, so all are welcome to offer thoughts and insight.

Space is limited, RSVP below…

IMPACT: A Decade

Can you believe it’s been 10 years? We’ve shared coffee with the most successful business and community leaders, hiked mountains, volunteered and almost shut down several bars just by networking in masses. For our past members, current PICKsters and friends we have yet to meet, your dedication to PICK is EVERYTHING! Whether you know it or not, you’ve helped us grow and become a thriving organization, one event at a time, 10 years in a row. So let’s celebrate, by getting fancy, pouring some bubbly and toasting some of the finest individuals in Riverside, for a night you’ll never forget.

Soak in the city lights atop City Hall for a perfect mixture of young and wise professionals, sprinkled with a few special guests, that’ll create a fun (and bubbly) party to celebrate our city's young professionals who are making a BIG… IMPACT!

IMPACT: The Young Professional Influence

The Pick Group of Young Professionals is proud to host IMPACT 2017: The Young Professional Influence, an event on the evening of October 7, 2017 in celebration of young professionals who are making a difference in the greater Riverside area.

The event will feature keynote speaker and acclaimed retired professional cyclist, Phil Gaimon. Phil competed as a professional cyclist from 2009-2016, including two years in the WorldTour with Garmin-Sharp (2014) and Cannondale (2016). He is the author of Pro Cycling on $10 a Day (2014) and Ask a Pro (2016), an ordained minister, amateur comedian, podcaster, entrepreneur, Fondo host, and creative marketer. His recent online series, Worst Retirement Ever, chronicles his transition from a professional athlete to a civilian and cycling enthusiast.

This year, the Pick Group will honor three young professionals from the greater Riverside area who have significantly contributed to the betterment of the region through community, business, and civic means:

  • Community: Callie Neal, Riverside Unified School District Teacher and Heritage Plan Facilitator
  • Business: Ronaldo Fierro, Entrepreneur and Owner/Restauranteur of The Salted Pig and W. Wolfskill
  • Civic: Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes, State Legislator Representing the 60th Assembly District
