Last night at the Riverside Unified School District Board Meeting, John W North’s mentor program received an award from Riverside County Office of Education as a “High School Model of Excellence Program.”

John W North High School wants to thank you for the contributions you have made of time and money (bringing all those lunches, taking time out to meet with your mentee, and making donations for awards/recognition) as mentors. Thank you Pick members that participate in the lives of young people (Lizette Navarette, Rina Gonzalez,  Rahman Gerren, Jenn O’Farrell, and any others).

JW North is one of the largest academies in the state of CA and have one of the largest mentor programs with mentors for all 60 Academy juniors plus an additional 10 academy seniors.  Many academies have one mentor work more than one student and we have one mentor for each junior student, plus several seniors.  So thank you for making our mentor program a success and now a recognized “Model Program of Excellence.”
