Meet Your Match with the Pick Group!
Learn about Civic Opportunities for Young Professionals
Riverside’s young professionals gather in a fun and fast paced evening to meet their match, their volunteer match that is, at the 4th Annual Pick & Pledge, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 5:30 PM.

The Pick Group, Young Professionals of Riverside, will host their biggest event of the year,
Pick & Pledge, at the
Riverside Downtown Marriott (3400 Market Street). Pick & Pledge gives Young Professionals the chance to meet and mingle with local Non Profit organizations, allowing them to
PICK which organization they want to help, and then
PLEDGE volunteer time and resources.
Pick & Pledge is similar to speed dating; however participants are meeting
organizations. Coordinated by the Pick Group’s Civic Involvement Committee (CIC), this is a great space to engage in the city and learn of opportunities available to connect passion and talent with real action.
Open to the public, young professionals are encouraged to come and make
new connections with members of their community. The Pick Group’s event
provide the only opportunity in the Inland Empire for Young Professionals to connect socially, develop professionally, and engage civically for the betterment of Riverside.
Do you want to attend? Let us know you will be present on Facebook!
Does your organization want a “speed-dating” table? Contact CIC Chair Jesse Limon for more information.

The
Pick Power Breakfast held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 featured Bruce Norris from the real estate company
The Norris Group as the speaker in the venue of the Victoria Club in Riverside, CA.

Bruce Norris
Mr. Norris spoke on his experience in the real estate market from the 1980’s all the way through the current economic situation. One of the key points of his message revolved around the current situation of the real estate market and how many people are not taking advantage of it. He also spoke on investments and how he feels real estate is a better investment than others, since the value tends to not change by the minute, compared to others that may drop sharply in value overnight. One of the points he stressed as an investor or to everyone in general, is that when it comes to your money and finances, only do what is comfortable to you, not what an advisor necessarily tells you.
The Pick Power Breakfast series will be taking a break during the month of December but will return January 2012. Happy holidays to everyone and thank you to Mr. Norris for speaking.
